Posting to social media is a vital component of any online marketing strategy, and Consumer Fusion makes it quick and easy to post to multiple social networks and even to make posts for multiple business locations at once.

This article covers how to create a social media post in the Consumer Fusion dashboard, refer to the Creating a Post article for mobile app specific details instead.

How to Create a Social Media Post in the Dashboard

To create a post in the Consumer Fusion dashboard, first navigate to the Schedule & Post page in the Social Media tab:

From this page, you will be able to add text and media for your post, and select any networks that you have synced with Consumer Fusion to post to.

On the left side of the page you will see the networks that you can choose from for your post. Networks that are not connected will appear in gray, and you can connect them by clicking on the button for that network.

Clicking on the button for any of the networks will select that network for the post that you are drafting. A selected network will have a green checkmark if your post meets the necessary criteria for posting to that network.

If your post does not meet the criteria for posting to that network, an orange icon will appear and you can learn more about what changes need to be made in order to post to that network. In this example, Instagram shows an error because we have not upload at least one image or video for our post yet.

After you select the networks that you’d like to post to, the next step is to add the text and media for your post. This can be done on the right section of the page, where you can add text and images or videos. Many networks allow you to post multiple images and/or videos, for a full list of what’s allowed by each one, see the section at the bottom of this article.

You may also add in placeholder text and our system will automatically add in the appropriate values based on the data in our system.

When you are ready to publish your post, you have the option to save it as a draft or post it immediately. You can also enable Multipost Mode to select several business locations to post to at once.

You can also schedule your post to publish in the future by clicking the calendar icon and then selecting the date and time that you’d like to publish it.

Posting to Instagram Reels

One option when making a social post is posting a video as an Instagram Reel. To post a Reel, click on the Instagram Reels toggle after selecting Instagram as the network you’d like to post to:

After selecting the Instagram Reels option, you can upload your video and then optionally upload an image to use as the cover image as well:

When a cover image is uploaded, it will say “cover” in the image preview as shown above. Cover images appear to users on Instagram before they play the Reel.
